Abstract

The report conducts a mid-term overall evaluation of public facilities restructuring implemented by Iga City, Mie Prefecture, which experienced municipal consolidation and the number and the amount of public facilities should be reduced following the continuing trend of depopulation in the long run. The report describes the city achieved reduction of 74958 square meters in five years, which corresponds 15% of the whole public facilities. The number is also reduced from 373 to 299. But the degrees of restructuring are varied both in terms of kinds of use and locations.
