This study clarify the effectiveness of the use of 3D scanning equipment in the renovation project of a registered tangible cultural property. The subject of the study is the renovation project of Taiyoshi Hyakuban in Nishinari-ku, Osaka City, where the authors assisted in the creation of drawings. The authors compared the labor, skill level, and accuracy of the drawings created for four plans with different surveying and drafting methods. Interviews were also conducted with persons involved in the renovation project. Based on the results, the characteristics and effectiveness of the use of 3D scanning equipment were summarized.
