Open-air ducts convey conditioned air along the surface of an open duct due to the Coanda effect. In nozzle-blown air conditioning, when the heat load is large, the jet flow falls due to the temperature difference, and the flying distance is reduced. Therefore, we attempted to improve the flying distance by installing open-air ducts and studied their application to an office space as a case study using CFD analysis. In the verification experiment, it was confirmed that the installation of an open-air duct improves the thermal environment by increasing the efficiency of air distribution.
