We conducted an experiment using a small water tank in order to confirm the inflow characteristics of water from the small openings of a wooden house when the site is flooded. The results can be summarized as follows.
1) By measuring the outflow of water, the inflow velocity into the room during flooding is investigated.
2) The characteristics of the water inflow rate can be almost expressed using Torricelli’s theorem, and the flow rate coefficient C, which corrects the flow rate due to opening resistance, is approximately 0.7 for steel plates with small depth and for the packing construction used for ventilations.
