With over half the global population living in cities, understanding urban green spaces’ mental health benefits is crucial. This study examines interactions among park features, personality traits, perceived setting interdependencies (PSI), and being away in urban parks and their impact on stress alleviation. Structural equation modeling of 435 Bangkok Park visitors’ responses indicates that the interaction between park features and personality significantly influences PSI, affecting stress alleviation. Personality traits like conscientiousness and extraversion directly and indirectly affect stress alleviation through being away. Being away also mediates the park features-stress alleviation relationship. Designing parks for diverse personality profiles can enhance mental well-being.
