In recent years, there has been increasing attention paid to Design-Build education in Japan, and many university laboratories have conducted Design-Build projects. However, few documents examine such laboratory-led extracurricular projects from an educational perspective. This paper reports on the findings obtained through a laboratory-led house renovation project designed and built by the students. Summarizing the activities and educational efficacy in each project stage, it discusses the significance and challenges of conducting a Design-Build education program as a laboratoryled extracurricular project.
