Abstract

The purpose of this report is to demonstrate the potential of university facilities as venues for international conferences, based on JNTO data, which is an international conference indicator. The survey revealed that approximately 30% of international conferences were held at university facilities. While the number of university facilities used as venues is smaller compared with conference centers, they were frequently utilized for hosting small-scale international conferences. Further, a small number of international conferences were organized in collaboration with facilities near the universities or historical buildings, indicating the potential for expanded utilization through regional partnerships.
