Abstract
The aim of this paper is to investigate the causal structure forming willingness to pay (WTP) for historic landscape conservation in naval city Kure, Japan. The result of structural equation modeling can be summarized as follows: (1) the respondents who recognize functions of historical landscape of Kure and are highly inclined to their residential communities tend to have higher values to the landscape and state higher WTP. (2) This study found no link between WTP and respondents' residential year and socioeconomic status.
