Religious moderation within Islamic boarding schools is crucial for cultivating students who are tolerant, discerning, and receptive to the diverse dynamics of society. This article examines the strategies employed by Kiai and teachers (ustadz) in the implementation of religious moderation in these institutions. Furthermore, this study also analyzes the relevance of moderate attitudes in contemporary contexts. The methodology employed in this research is a "systematic literature review" (SLR) utilizing a qualitative approach. The focus of the study was derived from a field investigation conducted over a period spanning from 2020 to 2024, resulting in the collection of 47 articles. This article highlights, First, the strategies that have been carried out in creating a moderate attitude for students, namely: strengthening a multicultural-based curriculum, national leadership training, empowering technology and social media, and religious-based social activities. Second, the relevance of religious moderation includes preventing extremism and radicalism, building tolerance and inclusiveness, developing leadership character, strengthening national unity and integrity. Thus, alumni graduates (Islamic boarding schools) have a significant contribution as agents of peace who promote harmony between religions, prevent radicalism, and strengthen national unity and integrity in a diverse society.
