Ambroise Firmin Didot, son of Firmin Didot, was grown by the affection to the Greek and Hellenic knowledge. He was one of the most excellent Hellenist of the 19th century. His activity embraces the numerous scientific publications, study on the history of typography, foundation of the private library and other social or national works. Above all the publication of the revised edition of “Thesaurus graecae lingae” by Henri Estienne represents his life and achievement. “Thesaurus” which combines the name of Estienne with that of Didot, symbolizes the spirit of French science. In this abstract paper is mentioned the relation of Ambroise Firmin Didot to “Thesaurus”.
