Abstract

Stress relief mechanisms operative in directly free Metal/Ceramic Interface were examined using niobium/alumina as example. It was formed that interfacial structures such as misfit dislocation and ledge move and relieve thermal stress either directly along the interface or by emitting dislocations from ledges.
