After feeding rats, the author has examined the appearance of fat granules in liver cells in summer and winter and has obtained the following results.
Regardless of season, it is the same as to how these fat granules appear in liver cells. The beginning of appearance is in the surroundings of the cells. The fat is distributed to the central zone of the lobules in summer, while to the middle zone in winter. The seasonal difference in summer and winter morphological formation of fat granules is hard to recognized. Many of the fat granules in liver cells demonstrate positive reactions to MICHAELIS' method in summer and positive reactions to modified CIACCIO's method in winter.
