Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reveal the effects of values for irrigation pond on the resident's environment-conscious attitude and behavioral intention. A social psychology model was used to analyze the questionnaire data to quantify relationship among values, attitude and behavioral intention. The results indicated that (1) both agricultural and environmental values are greatly related to behavior for environmental conservation, (2) the agricultural value is directly related to the behavioral intention, and,(3) the environmental values is not only directly but indirectly related to the behavior. Our study suggested that instead of the agricultural values the environmental values can increase the behavior for conservation of irrigation pond as natural resources.
