Recently conservative activities on rice terraces are being acted in the whole country. Therefore, this study examined actual conditions of it in municipalities to consider the way of it in the future.
Result of the examination revealed that conservative activities are evaluated highly. But the following problems also revealed. In spite of maintenance, rice terraces are being abandoned. Preservable areas by means of their activities are limited. Many municipalities expect further system reform on rice terraces and mountainous areas. Therefore, It is important that conservation of rice terraces needs suitable system reform, reexamination of conservative activities and so on in the future.
