The questionnaire survey was carried out to derive a desirable upgrading strategy for advanced utilization of irrigation ponds such as relaxation. The main feature of this research is that recognitions about utilization of water edge in childhood are foucused on. Analvzing hte answers from residents statistically, we can conclude the followings are important in planning advanced utilization of irrigation ponds : (1) the recognitions about playground; (2) the recognitions about agriculture. Keywords of concrete tentative plans are environmental education, allotment garden, and so on.
