Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the Ohara Museum of Art "Copying a painting art work for appreciation" program for young children. Young children watch the painting art work through the activity, and get to know the particular nature of painting. They observe "what is painted", "how it is painted" and "how we feel about it". They explain their observations through copying. They not only copy a painting art work, but also draw their own original work. They improve their appreciation of painting art works actively through copying.
