Synthesis of 3, 5-Di-sec-butylphenol

Synthesis of 3, 5-di-sec-butylphenol, an intermediate in the synthesis of auxin b lactone, was described. Hydrogenation of 3, 5-di-sec-butylphenol afforded 1, 3-di-sec-butylcyclo-hexane.
