Abstract
Six metabolites have been isolated from Aspergillus nidulans. Two of them are new metabolites and named emerin and emericellin, respectively. Emerin is greenish yellow columnar, mp 225_??_226°C and has been showen to be 1, 4-di-(p-methoxyphenyl)-2, 3-dinitrilo-1, 3-butadiene. Emericellin is yellow prisms, mp 110_??_112°C and has been shown to be 1-hydroxy-4-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)-6-methyl-7- (3-methyl-2-butenyloxy)-8-hydroxymethyl-xanthone. Other metabolites were identified as shamixanthone, sterigmatocystin, averufin, and versicolorin C, respectively.
