Synthesis of Both the Enantiomers of (2Z, 6Z)-2, 6-Nonadien- 4-olide, the Possible Male-Secreted Sex Pheromone from a Pyralid Moth, Aphomia gularis Zeller

Abstract

Both the enantiomers ( - 96% e.e.) of (2Z, 6Z)-2, 6-nonadien-4-olide, a possible pheromone of Aphomia gularis, were synthesized by resolving an acetylenic intermediate.
