リンカーヒストンの多様性とクロマチンの高次構造

Four decades have passed since linker histone H1 was discovered. In spite of many efforts, structural and functional roles of linker histone in the chromatin formation still remain to be elucidated. Notable studies related to linker histones have been reported recently, such as findings of specific roles in cell division, interaction modes of its globular domain with DNA and higher order structure of chromatin. The recent advance will be reviewed.
