The laser behavior of the 4-MU + Rhodamine 6 G dye system is studied by measurement of the laser spectra at various dye concentration and pump powers. Various mixtures of 4-MU and Rh. 6 G were excited by 337. 1-nm radiation from a nitrogen laser. It is found that pumping by excitation transfer is quite efficient, since most of the excitation absorbed by 4-MU is transferred to the Rh.6 G as useful pump power.
