This paper describes experimental studies of the relation between the grinding force and the peripheral shape of a workpiece in plunge griding. As a result of using the method of frequency analyses for the griding force and the peripheral shape, it is cleared that every frequency components of the peripheral shape nearly correspond to the ones of the grinding force under N=100[upr].

We aim at developing a new positioning control system that has suitable stiffness and ability of controlling its position within 0.01 [μm] order. Therefore, we produce a new positioning control device using pneumatic hydrostatic pressure. As the first report, this paper describes experimental results of basic characteristics of the trial device such as the distribution of its pressure, the positioning object and the vibration property. The results obtained are as follows, (1) The using pads are made very easily, but the pressure at lower side of the gas supply holes are extremely higher than other places. (2) The distribution of its pressure changes according to the increase of the object weight and the load-carrying capacity of the device balances its weight. (3) The floating height of the object according to the supply pressure is 14 [μm/kg/cm2]. (4) Its stiffness is 0.56 [kg/μm]. (5) The natural frequency of the significant mode of the object controlled is about 5 [KHz] and the damping ratio is 0.008.

In this paper, the characteristics of the periodic heat transfer in straight fins, having a base plate of which base temperature is varied in a periodic manner, is analyzed numerically by the finite difference method. As numerical examples, the effects of a length of fins, a fin pitch and a thickness of finned wall on the average heat flow rates are showed.

This paper discusses harmonic responses in Duffing equation having a symmetrical restoring force characteristics of polynomial of 3rd degree, without damping. The method of equivalent piecewise linearization starts from the obtained piecewise-linear solution as a generating solution. The periodic solutions obtained by this method are compared with the accurate ones by Runge-Kutta-Gill method. They show a fairly good agreement.

We have been observing the spectral line of the carbon monoxide which is emited from the molecular clouds in our Galaxy. For such observations in radio astronomy, stable and precise local osillators are indispensable. Frequency synthesizers commercially available generlly have high level of spurious noise, which cannot be ignored from the observational point of view. We have made an improved PLL (Phase Locked Loop) frequency synthesizer which have very low spurious noise and high frequency stbility. Frequency is controlled both manually and in program mode.

In 1975 we made a radio telescope system for interstellar CO spectral survey, which has been used for the observations of molecular clouds and has produced some important resuls. The reciver noise was however much enormous compared with the spectral power of the CO line, so it took too long integration time to survey a large area in the Galaxy. Then we have made our efforts to grade up the telescope system in order to enable efficient observations. Main points of improvements are: 1. A cooled mixer with a GaAs Schottky barrier diode has been developed, which has realized the mixer noise temperature of 500K when cooled down to 77K. 2. A liquid nitrogen cooled receiver for 115GHz signal has been composed, which has given the SSB system noise temperature of 1,200K. 3. A wide-band acousto-optic radio spectrometer has been realized. 4. Automatic observation and efficient data processing have been realized through the introduction of MT and the grade-up of software system. By useing this new telescope system, we are able to observe the molecular cloud more than 200 times as efficiently as the old one.

Analysis for Frequency Changer have been acted by digital computer. Using neutral voltage of inverter transformer, new simple simulation method have been obtained for frequency changer's action. By this method, small memory computer easily could be applied for analysis of frequency changer's phenomena.

The laser behavior of the 4-MU + Rhodamine 6 G dye system is studied by measurement of the laser spectra at various dye concentration and pump powers. Various mixtures of 4-MU and Rh. 6 G were excited by 337. 1-nm radiation from a nitrogen laser. It is found that pumping by excitation transfer is quite efficient, since most of the excitation absorbed by 4-MU is transferred to the Rh.6 G as useful pump power.

In the preceding paper, the significance and necessity, in English-language teaching, of structuring the senses of a word was pointed out, and a method for the structuring, in turn, is discussed in this paper. The senses of a word are structured upon the following premises. i) A sense of a word is composed of some semantic features. ii) When a new sense (b)) comes into being out of a sense (a)) (from the historical point of view), attention is paid to the semantic contrast between the two senses. From their contrast, a feature, or some features of a) and/or b) is/are extracted. The same process is applied to one pair after another, and each structure of the senses is defined. iii) The structure of a word is clarified through the semantic contrasts seen among the senses whose structures are defined.

In this study, the starting times and pass curves of the hip, knee and the ankle joints were recorded during jumping at various stages in standing broad jump and sarjent jump. Four subjects (who were high school athletic club member) were employed in this study. (Table I Showed) Subjects were asked to jump five different stages of distance graduated in twenty percent of their maximum performance. Every stage consisted of three sets of jumping, one set including two trials, so that fifteen sets were in order given for each jumping stages. Results obtained were as follows; 1. The starting times were rectilinearly later according to the increase of jumping stages. 2. The starting speeds were rectilinearly higher according to the increase of jumping stages. 3. The pass curve of the ankle joint formed a half gourd shaped during jumping at maximum distance. In vertical plane, the ankle joint was more eleveated during jumping at longer distance. The peak on the pass curve of the hip joint was not changed at every stages. The peak on the pass curve of the knee joint appeared right in the center between the peak on the pass curve of the hip joint and the landing point. 4. The amplitude of the rotation of the hip, knee, ankle and shoulder joints tended to increase according to the increase of jumping distance.
