Abstract
Many Japanese English learners including college students use the English authorized textbooks when they study English vocabulary. In the previous study, the author made up the lists of English vocabulary which is characteristically used for EGP (English for General Purposes), EGAP (English for General Academic Purpose) and ESAP (English for Specific Academic Purpose) and calculated the coverage of the textbook vocabulary on each list. Course of study for high schools was revised in 2009 and executed in 2013, and new English textbooks have been published. In this situation, the purpose of this study is to recalculate the coverage of the vocabulary used in new English authorized textbooks and to discuss the availability of those textbooks for English education in colleges of technology.
