G. H. Jonker and J. H. Van Santen suggested the possibility of explaining their experimental results for some of the ferromagnetic compounds of manganese by assuming three superexchange interactions, i. e., a strong positive Mn3+-Mn4+ interaction, a very small Mn3+-Mn3+ interaction and a negative Mn4+-Mn4+ interaction. Following their idea, we have calculated the dependence of the magnetization and of Curie temperature on the composition and the anomalous behavior of saturation magnetization with temperature.
We have obtained satisfactory results.
