Excitation of Freak Waves in Magnetized Plasmas

Abstract

Excitation of nonlinear breathers for magnetized plasmas, in particular in the context of drift waves, is discussed. Breathers can arise as a consequence of nonlinear evolution of underlying drift waves, with self-consistent feedback from nonlinearly driven flows. Data analysis confirmed the excitation of breathers for drift waves and the transient increase of particle flux is also demonstrated.
