Abstract

Velocity of climate change (VoCC) is a metric that describes the speed to keep pace with climate change. We estimated VoCC for 54 scenarios (6 GCMs × 3 RCPs × 3 thresholds) by comparing annual mean temperatures of 1981?2010 and 2076?2100 over Japanese land areas at about 1 km² spatial resolution. Estimated values ranged among 36.8?308.6 m/year. We also visualized the results for users to plan local adaptation measures to climate change.
