This study focuses on a current situation and a transition of the maintenance method for producing bamboo forests from the viewpoint of boundary formation. There is a history that the production of bamboo as food and materials has been still carried out to grow high-quality so that a cultivation method is called "Kyoto-style softening cultivation". However, the forest area has been decreased. Analysis of geographical distribution changes over the area reveals that the ratio of the length of the outer periphery to the area has increased. It represents the bamboo forest has been subdivided. The spatial analysis in each field reveals that there are two factors to form different boundary structures- 1) urbanization and other factors 2) the unique production method-
