In the results of analyzing the aerial photographs by dividing spatial changes into buildings and other than buildings(parking lot) inside and outside of buffer zone of Changdeokgung Palace in Korea and Nijo-jo Castle in Japan after being registered as World Heritage, this study verified the front gate-centered maintenance, differences of change in each section, extinction of Hanok-style and Machiya-style buildings and increase of tourist-centered parking lot. Through this, this study found out that there is a limit to the management of the surrounding areas of World Heritage only by the regulation of the visual impact of the height and design of new buildings.
