Abstract

We hypothesized that college students with higher tendency toward internet addiction disorder tendency, new type of depressive tendency and life stress tend to develop a more severe digital dementia tendency. In addition, students who exhibit higher levels of resilience, a preference for exercising with others and quality of life (QOL), all of which suppress internet addiction disorder ,new type of depressive tendency and digital dementia tendency. Longitudinal data collected by questionnaire surveys of college students were analyzed by structural equation modeling, and the results appeared to support almost our hypothesis. The study also suggested the importance of improving resilience and preference for exercising with others in particular as preventive measures against the negative effects of the chain reaction of these three types of bad tendencies.
