Abstract

Toward heat adaptation in community planning, it is effective to conduct a thermal environment simulation for target neighborhoods. The “Project PLATEAU” initiated by MILT may be conducive to diffusing such simulation, since the project releases the 3D city models of municipalities to public. In this paper, we report the CFD analysis for the outdoor environment during the summer daytime in the urban center neighborhood, Nishiki 2 District, Nagoya City, by using the 3D model. The result showed that comfortability in the space of “Kaisho” located in the center of each block in the neighborhood is relatively positive as direct sunlight is blocked by surrounding buildings. We demonstrated the usefulness of PLATEAU data for this analysis as well as the lack of information in its data, and subsequently, pointed out the issue of data availability for generalization of this analysis process.
