Abstract

In recent years, cultivation abandonment lands are considered serious place as a deterioration of rural landscapes, the expansion of animal damage and illegal disposal of waste. The purpose of the research farmlands in Naka city, Ibaraki, Japan as a case study of potential for cultivation abandonment land. There are two main research points. First of all, the research clarify that which farmland considered by owner as a potential cultivation abandonment land by the list of Local Farmland Sale and Lease. How relation with cultivation abandonment land and their location characteristic of lands. Secondly, this study considered the significance and issues about the list of Local Farmland Sale and Lease and the farmland of potential cultivation abandonment land in the area. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the sale and lease of the entire farmland in the city and the potential abandonment of farmland as the owner's intention in the list. Especially, there are relation with the characteristics of the location and mainly in terms of elevation.
