Abstract

The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between the orientation of potential users toward each park and their choice of destination, and to discuss the management and operation of national parks in consideration of their use orientation, by taking up national parks in Japan. The results of an Internet questionnaire survey revealed that there are four axes that explain the content of activities. The use orientation was categorized into five types: "knowledge-experience oriented," "mind-body restoration oriented," "wilderness enjoyment oriented," "exercise oriented," and "appreciation oriented. The relationship between resource image and use orientation of national parks was also clarified.
