In order to ascertain the species variation in the influence of height of blood column upon erythrocyte sedimentation rate in domestic animals, the blood sedimentation rate was measured at the range of 50 mm to 500 mm in blood column height. The results are summarized as follows (Fig. 1-4.):
1. In the early stage of blood sinking, lower blood column was of greater promoting effect than heigher blood column, heigher blood column, on the contrary, being of greater promoting effect than lower column in the latter stage.
2. The correlation between height of blood column and erythrocyte sedimentation rate are shown in Fig. 5, and its relation consists of two phases. The appearance of these phases seems to be in close connection with the blood sedimentation types (Table 1.).
3. The ratio of erythrocyte sedimentation rate to height of blood column are shown in Fig. 6-8. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate is not proportional to the height of blood column.
