Preparation of Polyion Complex Vesicles with Phosphobetaine Shells Composed of Oppositely Charged Random Copolymers by Dialysis Method

Oppositely charged random copolymers containing pendant water-soluble phosphobetaine units were prepared. Polyion complex (PIC) vesicles were prepared by dialysis method against pure water from the mixture of the two oppositely charged random copolymers in NaCl aqueous solution. The hollow core of the PIC vesicle was confirmed by encapsulation of hydrophilic guest molecules.
