複数の道具使用が身体近傍の空間知覚へ与える影響

私たちの身の回りには身体を拡張する道具がある。身体を拡張する道具を長期的に使用すると、その道具を使用した行動の精度が向上することがある。このような現象は道具の身体化と呼ばれており、この原因は道具が身体表象に組み込まれるためだと考えられている。本研究では、複数の道具を同時に使用したとき、身体表象に与える影響が相互作用を引き起こすかを検討した。その結果では複数の道具使用時には行動の精度が低下することが示された。これは、身体化した道具の表象の大きさ、及び大きさの推定に対して同時使用した道具が影響を与えた可能性を示している。

There are tools that have function of expand our body around us. It has been shown that long-term use of a body-expanding tool improves the accuracy of actions using that tools. Such a phenomenon is called "the embodiment of tools", and it is thought that the cause is the tool is incorporated into the body representation. In this study, we examined whether the effects on body representation could cause interactions when multiple tools were used simultaneously. The results showed that the accuracy of the behavior decreased when multiple tools were used. This indicates the size of the representation of the embodied tool, and the possibility that the tool used simultaneously affected the estimation of the size.
