Abstract

Convallagenin-B (III) from the flowers of Convallaria keisukei MIQ., Japanese lily of the valey, has been elucidated as 25_L, 5β-spirostan-1β, 3β, 4β, 5β-tetrol, that represents the first instance of the 25_L-tetrahydroxy steroidsapogenin.
