Studies on Constituents of Medicinal Plants. IX. A Constituent of the Roots of Rosa multiflora THUNB.

Abstract

A triterpenoid C₃₀H₄₈O₅, mp 266-267°, was isolated from the roots of Rosa multiflora THUNB., and was proved to be identical with tormentic acid (2α, 18α-dihydroxyursolic acid). Plausible mass spectral fragmentations of the diacetate (II) were discussed.
