Abstract

The structure of pillaromycin A (I, PMA), C₂₈H₂₈O₁₁, is elucidated as I. In PMA (I) 12a hydroxyl of pillaromycinone (II, PMN), C₂₀H₁₈O₇, is linked glycosidicaly to the 1'-anomeric hydroxyl of pillarose (III), C₈H₁₂O₅.
