Abstract

A new 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor, 3-O-caffeoyl-4-O-sinapoylquinic acid (2), was isolated from Gardeniae Fructus. The structure was elucidated on the basis of spectral data and the result of partial methanolysis of its tetramethylate (3).
