Abstract

(-) -Swainsonine, (2R, 3S, 4R) -and (2R, 3R, 4R) -3, 4-dihydroxy-2-hydroxymethylpyrrolidine (2 and 3) were synthesized stereoselectively starting from (R) -and (S) -glutamic acid derivatives, respectively.
