Studies on the Constituents of the European Mistletoe, Viscum album L.

Abstract

Four new flavonoid glycosides, 2'-hydroxy-3, 4', 6'-trimethoxychalcone-4-Ο-glucoside (VII), 2'-hydroxy-4', 6'-dimethoxychalcone-4-Ο- [apiosyl (1→2)] glucoside (VIII), (2R) -5, 7-dimethoxyflavanone-4'-Ο-glucoside (IX) and (2S) -3', 5, 7-trimethoxyflavanone-4'-Ο-glucoside (X), and a known flavonoid glucoside, 2'-hydroxy-4', 6'-dimethoxychalcone-4-Ο-glucoside (VI), were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Viscum album L. (Loranthaceae). These structures were established on the basis of the spectral and chemical data. β-Amyrin acetate, oleanolic acid, betulinic acid, phytosterol, phytosterol-β-D-glucoside and syringin were also isolated.
