Abstract

It is very important to re-evaluate the historical value in modern urban space for creating the historical space. Therefore, we have to know the local history and culture. In addition, It’s becoming possible to design urban space by using the geo-spatial information acquired from the social media. The sando area is the approach to a shrine and a temple. In this study, the sando area is defined as the space approaching to shrines and temples from the urban space as well as the precincts. Therefore, the sando area has to plan the contrast and harmony between the historical space and the modern space. The purpose of this study is to reveal the spatial structure of the sando area in the modern urban space focusing on the networks.
