Abstract
The abrasion-resistance was done for denture base acrylic resin treated with two different smoothing agents. A significant difference was found between the surface treated resin and the plain acrlyiic resin materials. The reduced area due to tooth-brushing of resin materials treated with the smoothing agents Linkle Coat (Coating 1) and Perma Link (Coating 2) showed smaller values than the plain ones of the control materials. The surface of resin material treated with Coating 1 was significantly (p<0.05) superior to that with Coating 2. The resin materials surface treated with smoothing agents have better abrasion-resistance than the control, and the new formulation, Linkle Coat, was considered to be useful as a surface smoothing agent.
