The auther has analised 32 samples of rice straws produced in droughty districts which were differented from the amount of damage. The worse the damage, the greater sugar, starch, nitrogen, phosphor and the smaller pentosan, crude cellulose, crude ash, silicic acid, potassium. From these results the auther has considered as follows : The polymerisation of sugar to cellulose and eth oxydation of monose to pentosan were remarkably interrupted. The starch should be removed to cereals remains, and absorbed small quantity of potassium, silicic acid but large quantity of nitrogen, phosphor.
