Autonomous Vehicles: A Global Review of Research Trends, and Real-World Implementation

Nowadays, research and development regarding AVs have been progressed globally in quite high rate. Since the circumstance on AV research and development changes vigorously, it is meaningful to grasp the current location of the AV development. This study aims to figure out the research trend on AVs by international comparison. The research method is mainly by literature reviews. Keywords are extracted from the collection of relevant literatures to visualize keyword correlation. Based on this, they were categorized into three keyword groups with the help of VOSviewer to visualize the difference in research trend based on the proportion of each group generated by the collection of keywords. In addition to keyword analysis, introduction status of AVs and legislation over the world were referred to understand the relationship between the research and real situation.
