Monte Carlo simulations for biaxial ellipsoid particles have been carried using a hybridized mean field potential or a biaxial Gay-Berne potential. 4-Hexyloxy-4'-cyanobiphenyl (60CB) was approximated to soft ellipsoids with three semi-axes. Four order parameters were evaluated to specify the orientational order m the uniaxial nematic phase.
