抄録

The heat capacity has been measnred near the smectic-A smectic-C_A-smectic-J_A phase transitions in a racemate antiferroelectric liquid crystal MHPOCBC. A high presicion ac calorimeter has been used for the measurement. The transitions were found to be weakly first order. The heat anomalies have been analyzed using a power-law equation.
