Dielectric response of charged colloids dispersed in L_α phase was studied and two relaxations were observed. One is originated from the characteristic structures of L_α phase, which can be modeled by series connections of membranes and water. The other is originated from the random walk of particles confined in the distortions of membranes. The movement of a single particle in long time scale was observed with a fluorescent microscope. The particles are found to be trapped within a certain site, which is probably originated from large-scale detects of L_α phase. By combining the results of electrophoretic light scattering, we discuss the dynamics of particles in lamellar structure.
