Dielectric relaxation of polymer-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystals (PS-FLCs) in thick cells was measured as a function of polymer concentration. The dielectric constant of PS-FLC in thick cells is similar to that of FLC being unirradiated by UV but including monomer. It can be concluded that the polymer network is restricted mainly near the cell surfaces, and then, in thick cells, the influence of the network on the FLC molecular motion is negligible.
