Phase transition behaviour of optically isotropic cubic liquid crystals, 1, 2-bis- (4-n-alkoxybenzoyl) hydrazine, BABH (n) (n=8, 10, 11, 12), was investigated under hydrostatic pressures up to 200 MPa using high-pressure DTA, wide-angle X-ray diffraction equipped with a high-pressure cell, and polarizing optical microscope equipped with a high-pressure optical cell. The T vs. P phase diagrams for these compounds were constructed in the pressure range. The cubic (Cub) phase between the Cr and SmC phases for BABH (8) and BABH (10) was found to disappear at pressures above about 32 and 11 MPa, respectively, while the Cub phase between the Cr and isotropic liquid (I) for BABH (11) and BABH (12) was stable in the whole pressure range observed.
